Statement by Hugh Jidette on President Obama’s 2012 Budget

“With all the discussion today surrounding the President’s 2012 budget and the Republican response, I for one am disappointed all around. We’ve borrowed $14 trillion already, so let’s continue to borrow like there’s no tomorrow!

“I look at the proposals, and all I can say is, why can’t we spend more and tax less? We’ve borrowed $14 trillion – why not try for another $14 trillion? Where is that ‘can-do’ and ‘can-borrow’ spirit?

“If elected president, I will build on the work both parties have done to increase the national debt. My own budget proposals would include a series of massive spending increases and tax cuts for all Americans. Yes, we can all double our income overnight, through the magic of borrowing!

“In fact, when I am President, I will put a stop to the entire annual exercise of putting together a budget at all. Let’s keep borrowing and stop worrying.”
